{"id":1661,"date":"2011-07-10T14:05:45","date_gmt":"2011-07-10T22:05:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/watermanatwork.com\/blog\/?p=1661"},"modified":"2011-07-10T14:16:21","modified_gmt":"2011-07-10T22:16:21","slug":"north-bonneville-car-show","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/watermanatwork.com\/blog\/north-bonneville-car-show\/","title":{"rendered":"North Bonneville Car Show"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After more than a week of changing clutches, timing chains and head gaskets, I had enough of working on cars, so I headed down to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.northbonneville.net\/\" target=\"_blank\">North Bonneville, WA<\/a> to check out the &#8220;Too Hot For the Streets&#8221; Car Show to check out some other guy&#8217;s automotive skills. It was a beautiful, sunny day and there were a lot of really nice cars and trucks.<br \/>\nIt was the first chance I had to use my new Panasonic Limux DMC LX5, I was able to get an idea of camera&#8217;s performance, but more on that later, now it&#8217;s on to the cars.<br \/>\nHow about this modern custom built Cobra and a classic 1957 Chevrolet?<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/watermanatwork.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/Cobra-57Chev.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1662\" title=\"Cobra-57 Chevy\" src=\"https:\/\/watermanatwork.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/Cobra-57Chev.jpg\" alt=\"Cobra-57 Chevy\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" srcset=\"https:\/\/watermanatwork.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/Cobra-57Chev.jpg 500w, https:\/\/watermanatwork.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/Cobra-57Chev-300x168.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>There were a number of hot Cobras at the show. Hard to pick the best one. How about this classic Chevrolet small block V8? Probably came stock with a 283, good bet it has been replaced by a 350 cubic inch truck engine block with four bolt mains, 2.20 &#8220;fuelie&#8221; heads off a fuel injected 327 engine that came in Corvettes, maybe blueprinted and balanced. All stock down to the hubcaps and trim, in absolutely mint condition. Even the hood hinges were precision machined, the welding on the frame was cleaner than most motorcycles. This is the Pacific Northwest after all, check out this old Mack logging truck. Chain drive, wheels are rubber glued to metal rims.
