No rain or snow and the fishing season is quickly coming to a close, so it&#8217;s back to the Klickitat River for another try at a trophy steelhead or salmon. There are still a few leaves on the trees, but as the wind picks up, most of them wind up on the ground.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/watermanatwork.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/AutumnLeaves11-5-12.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2749\" title=\"Autumn Leaves 11-5-12\" src=\"https:\/\/watermanatwork.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/AutumnLeaves11-5-12.jpg\" alt=\"Autumn Leaves 11-5-12\" width=\"525\" height=\"700\" srcset=\"https:\/\/watermanatwork.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/AutumnLeaves11-5-12.jpg 525w, https:\/\/watermanatwork.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/AutumnLeaves11-5-12-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 525px) 100vw, 525px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>It was foggy along the Columbia River, but clear higher up in the Cascade foothills. The Klickitat was still running pretty high, but a little clearer than last week. Still too cloudy for fly fishing, so I used a gold Thomas Bouyant spoon, that had worked before, to start out with. After a few casts, I got a solid hit, set the hook and the fight was on. After a good battle, I beached about a ten pound Chinook salmon.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/watermanatwork.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/ChinookSalmon11-6-12.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2750\" title=\"Chinook Salmon 11-6-12\" src=\"https:\/\/watermanatwork.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/ChinookSalmon11-6-12.jpg\" alt=\"Chinook Salmon 11-6-12\" width=\"600\" height=\"308\" srcset=\"https:\/\/watermanatwork.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/ChinookSalmon11-6-12.jpg 600w, https:\/\/watermanatwork.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/ChinookSalmon11-6-12-300x154.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>A few more hours of fishing yielded nothing, so it was off to put the snow tires on the truck and take care of some chores.
