Our luck has been pretty good for a change, and we&#8217;re hoping it will continue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As usual, we were out there before the crack of dawn to take advantage of the calm wind and any largemouth bass that were early risers. Most of the fish were good sized largemouth bass.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" src=\"https:\/\/watermanatwork.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/NiceBass4-8-24.gif\" alt=\"Kayak fishing for largemouth bass with watermanatwork.com\" class=\"wp-image-7795\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>The conditions were perfect for kayak fishing. It&#8217;s starting to get hot in the desert, but still relatively cool at night and not unbearably hot. Most important, no desert wind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"700\" height=\"525\" src=\"https:\/\/watermanatwork.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/CORiver4-11-24.jpg\" alt=\"Colorado River\" class=\"wp-image-7796\" srcset=\"https:\/\/watermanatwork.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/CORiver4-11-24.jpg 700w, https:\/\/watermanatwork.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/CORiver4-11-24-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The conditions stayed the same for the next two days and we got to do a lot of great kayak fishing for largemouth bass.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" src=\"https:\/\/watermanatwork.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/JumpingBass4-10-24.gif\" alt=\"Kayak fishing for largemouth bass with watermanatwork.com\" class=\"wp-image-7797\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>In this three day run of kayak fishing, I caught a lot of bigger bass, but no huge lunkers. The water level was dropping, but not too much. It still may have affected the fishing.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"336\" src=\"https:\/\/watermanatwork.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/DoubleJumpBass4-11-24.gif\" alt=\"Kayak fishing for largemouth bass with watermanatwork.com\" class=\"wp-image-7799\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>By the third day, the kayak fishing for largemouth bass was noticeably slower than the previous two days. We were still catching fish, but we had to work a lot harder. We&#8217;ll be moving to another spot where we&#8217;ve had pretty good luck in the past and we will close out the 2023-24 winter kayak fishing season there.
