1994 NORBA Nationals Video

Finally got all the editing and encoding done; the videos of the 1994 NORBA National Championships at Big Bear Lake, California are the first installment of MTB Theatre section of the WatermanAtWork.com website. These video clips are from the glory days of NORBA mountain bike racing. Tomac, Overend, Furtado, Juarez, Giove, Lopes, King and more all at the peak of their racing careers.

The Mens Cross Country race may have been one of the greatest in American mountain biking history. John Tomac came in with a narrow lead over Tinker Juarez in the National Championship points race; mountain bike legend Ned Overend won the race on the brutal up and down Snow Summit race course, Tinker came in third to claim the National Championship XC title.

“Johnny T” may have had a bad day on the cross country course, but he would not be denied for the downhill National Championship. Tomac, another mountain bike legend who, in his career won both the XC and Downhill NORBA National titles, Sea Otter Classic and Mammoth Kamikaze Downhill, as well as road racing in Europe with the 7-11 and Motorola racing teams, claimed the NORBA Downhill National Championship for 1994.

  1. Thanks, great memories. I was racing there and am interested in seeing results. I have not been able to find any. Can you help?

  2. If you do a Google search for the name and days of the race or even search your own name you might be able to come up with some results. Somebody at MTBR might be able to help, try posting there.
