We had a few days of rain here, not a torrential downpour, but a misting, drizzly, showery weekend. Stopped raining yesterday afternoon, the wind blew overnight and dried things out a bit. The clear skies following the storm made for a little cool weather; last night was the first night of the season in the 30’s. Cool, crisp, clear and breezy today, perfect for riding.
In the woods, it was dark and damp, but not wet or muddy. Just about perfect.
Out in the open, it was nice and sunny
With the rain, the wild mushrooms are in season. Some of them are not only edible, but a delicacy. A little slow today because of the cold weather, but there should be a bumper crop tomorrow. Not sure exactly what’s for dinner tomorrow, but it will include wild mushrooms.
Met a nice young lady on the trail today, think she might be looking at mushrooms for dinner, too.
Get out there, this beautiful late summer/early autumn weather is not going to last forever.
