Spring has officially begun, but winter is still hanging on. We finally got a couple dry days in a row and I’ve been able to get out on the road bike; the mountain bike trails are still too muddy and there is still snow around above 2000′ or so. Even though it’s a bit chilly and a little gray, you can’t be chicken, you have to get out there.
The sun comes out once and a while, but it’s mostly cloudy and gray with scattered showers around.
The roads are mostly dry, but it is cool and there is still snow on the side of the road. It’s very hilly around here, being the Cascade Mountains and all, so bombing downhill at 35 mph is pretty cold, but turn around a pedal back up and you are sweating.
With gasoline approaching $4.00/gallon, I’m glad to be able to hop on the bike and go into town to check the mail.
