It has been snowing and cold here in the PacNW for the past few days, emphasis on “cold”. Probably has not been above 32° much the past week. It snowed heavily over Christmas, about 6-8″. Then, one day with a high of 35° or so and a bit of the snow melted off. Then the temperature dropped overnight and froze the wet and melted snow and it’s been that way ever since.
We had a mountain bike ride planned for today, the sun was out, the skies were blue, but it was cold, 28° with 4″ of frozen snow on the ground when I left Hood River for North Bonneville, WA.
Met up with Don, Lee and Magesh for a ride around North Bonneville. No snow here and a few degrees warmer than further east. We rode along the Columbia River and around a few of the small lakes surrounding the town. It was still pretty cold so it was a relatively short ride, but for the last week in December, the fact we were able to ride bikes at all makes it a good day.
Happy New Year everybody!
