My mountain bike has been broke down and it has been killing me to watch these perfect riding days go by. Finally, I got my new brakes and put them on as quickly as possible so I could ride today. The brakes are really sweet; Shimano XT M775 disc brakes. Came all the way from England cheaper than I could get them here in the United States. Smooth and quiet with plenty of stopping power. When you live on top of a mountain, that’s a good thing.
Another beautiful day today, I could hardly wait to get back on the trail. As expected, the trails were in perfect condition and the weather was great.
The woods are dark and damp but the sunny areas are still dry, brown and warm. The views, as always, are fantastic.
Not quite as sunny at the top of the mountain. Clouds were blowing up the Gorge and covering the top of the hill. The clouds were moving about 25 mph, so they weren’t around long.
The weather has been unseasonably warm and humid. This has caused an early fall explosion of wild mushrooms. They are sprouting all over the place. I did not take my shopping bag with me today, but tomorrow night we’ll be having wild mushrooms for dinner. From the forest to the plate in a couple hours. Yum.
Looking forward to another great day tomorrow.
