Animals Gone Wild

Looks like it’s animal attack season around here. A few days after being attacked by the neighbor’s crazy Rotweiller, it looks like a cougar has killed a couple sheep. Not baby lambs, but full sized sheep. One sheep was lying next to the electric fence, it didn’t have any teeth marks or blood on it, it may have panicked while the cougar was attacking one of the other sheep, run into the electric fencing and got strangled or broke it’s neck. Still dead either way.
Another full grown sheep was dragged across a field, across the road and into the woods. I’ve seen cougar tracks in those woods, but they were from a small cat, maybe 35-40 pounds. An animal that can drag a full grown sheep at least a quarter mile is bigger than that, for sure. There are some small bears and coyotes around here, but there wasn’t any animal hair on the bushes(except for the poor sheep), which are pretty thick. This time of year, bears and coyotes are shedding their winter coats so you are likely to see where they have gone though the bush, so the animal is likely a good sized cougar.
Once a cat knows there are easy pickings, he’ll be back, so the State guys have come out with their tracking dogs to see if they can hunt the cougar down before it kills other domestic or farm animals.

I reckon if they find it(which is no small task), they’ll shoot it with a tranquilizer gun and take it off in the woods somewhere.
