Snowden Lives Up to It’s Name

Snowden is a hilly area outside of White Salmon, WA that is known for it’s abundant snowfall and today it more than lived up to it’s name. It’s snowed at least a foot in the past 24 hours and it is still snowing. The temperature now at 5 PM is 25 degrees and dropping quickly … Read more

Snow and Mud

Looks like winter is going to give us one more shot of cold and snow before we switch over to spring. It’s been snowing off and on for the last twenty four hours, it seems to be getting colder and the snow showers a bit heavier and more frequent. I went into town earlier today, … Read more

Manual Labor

The weather has been on the cold side for the past few days, so I’ve been scanning some of my thousands of slides and negatives; converting them to digital files. It’s cool to see these old photos, but scanning them is kind of tedious. I don’t have a top shelf scanner, which can cost thousands … Read more

First 2011 MTB Ride

The weather has remained nice, the trails are drying out, so out into the woods we go. I missed out on a ride yesterday because I had some computer work to do, but today was a ride day. It was sunny in the morning, then clouded up in the afternoon, probably due to a storm … Read more

First Bike Ride of 2011

The 2011 bike riding season has begun! Thanks to the unusually warm and surprisingly dry weather here in the PacNW, I was able to get out for a quick ride before a rainstorm blows in. The weather here in Washington has been unseasonably warm and rainy, usually January is a snowy, cold time of year. … Read more

Water, Water Everywhere

It has been raining for almost a week, the snowpack is melting and all that water has to go somewhere. Off the mountains, down the valley and into the river. Creeks that are dry or just a trickle in the summer are raging torrents. There is a lot of water headed downhill today.
