New Look

We’ve decided to change the appearance of the blog a little bit from the default template. We’ll be doing a bit more tweaking in the next few days but we still want the focus of the blog to be on content. Hope you like the new look.

Odd Winter Weather

Today was a strange day on Mt. Hood. There was a “temperature inversion”; where it is warmer on the top of the mountain than at the base. The parking lot at Mt. Hood Meadows and the lower slopes were frozen solid, while the top of the mountain was foggy, rainy and slushy. Some of the … Read more

Blogjam

The good news is by bringing attention to Craig Sheppard’s plagiarism; he has either removed the stolen material or blocked access to non-members of his website. We could sure do with less people like him. Bad news is the WatermanAtWork blog has not been freshened up recently. Reason is we’ve been working on a new … Read more

At least three people were killed on the snowy and icy roads to the resort. Now there are spring conditions with no new snow … Read more

I’ve posted two helmet cam videos of our secret PacNW singletrack and three surfing videos on the WatermanAtWork YouTube channel. Check ’em out.

Big Time Season Opener

The PacNW snow season got off to a big start with six inches of fresh powder over a three foot base on opening day. Only two of the lower mountain chairs were open but there was plenty of fresh, fluffy powder. The second day of the season was just as nice; if not better. Opening … Read more

Rain and Snow

Today is sunny but it has been raining off and on for about a week straight. Getting colder too. Bad news is that it is tough to get out for a bike ride, the kayak is packed away for the winter so the outdoor stuff is starting to be limited. Gotta hit the winter steelhead … Read more
