Cold And Dry Mountain Biking

There’s been a little bit of rain in the past few days but overall, the trails have had a chance to absorb the rain that has fallen. Today was mostly clear, but pretty cold. We set out on the local trails with the temperature at about 40°F and most of the leaves fallen from the trees and onto the ground. The trails were in just about perfect condition.

There are some new sections to the trail, a great improvement to the ride with some challenging singletrack and great views of the Columbia Gorge.

No doubt that winter is right around the corner. We saw a few snowflakes fall at the higher elevations, it has the feel of winter.

The new trails pass through a section of forest that was clear cut not that long ago, it makes for wide open country.

Now we have to see how the weather goes. It’s been snowing higher up in the mountains, being as cold as it is now, it’s only a matter of time before it starts snowing here.
