After a great few days of bike riding, my equipment has let me down. Once again, the Hayes Stroker Trail disc brakes on my mountain bike have failed. I’ve had problems with these brakes ever since I got them, it’s only been a few weeks since I had to send them back to the Hayes factory for a total rebuild and now the rear brake has totally failed. The brakes seem to have a major defect or manufacturing flaw with the master cylinders.
Hayes claims these Stroker Trail brakes have been “ridden to numerous World Cup championships”, but mine keep failing during casual riding. Nothing like having your brakes fail without warning. And if the Hayes factory technicians can’t make the brakes work, what am I supposed to do?
Any World Cup champions out there want to give me your brakes?
