We had hoped to be fishing by now. Spring salmon are running, the local lakes are freshly stocked with trout and walleye and smallmouth bass are biting in the Columbia River. Got all the gear ready and threw the kayak on the truck. The next day began a week of downpours and 40+ mph wind. Finally, the sun comes out, the rain stops and the wind dies down so we’re thinking today is the day.
That is, until the sun came up and revealed the snow that had fallen overnight.
Is spring ever going to get here? At least the wind seems to be calming down a little, hopefully the kayak will hit the water tomorrow.
