We spent another couple days kayak fishing for largemouth bass on the Colorado River, where the fishing remains pretty good. Not as good as last week when we were catching a lot of bigger fish, but still a lot of fish caught. The biggest fish were probably about two or three pounds, but I caught at least fifteen fish each of the two days and lost a bunch more. A lot of fishing action on the Colorado River.
The fishing was best early in the mornings with the bite tapering off in the late morning and early afternoon.
Hot action in the morning and picking off bass here and there in the afternoon made for a full fishing day. Had to do a fair bit of paddling to find the fish, but there was plenty of action once you found the hungry fish.
The second day of the two day trip, the clouds started rolling in. It didn’t get much cooler, but the overcast conditions provided welcome relief from the blazing desert sun. Sun or clouds, the largemouth bass kept biting.
After two eight to ten hour days on the kayak, today’s windy and overcast day off the water is a nice rest day. Catching up on some work and getting a break from the sun. Looks like a few windy days, we will be on fishing standby while we work on the kayak fishing videos that need editing.
Stay tuned for more kayak fishing action from the Colorado River.
