The weather has been on the cold side for the past few days, so I’ve been scanning some of my thousands of slides and negatives; converting them to digital files. It’s cool to see these old photos, but scanning them is kind of tedious. I don’t have a top shelf scanner, which can cost thousands of dollars, so there is some manual labor involved with the scanning and fixing up scratches and dust spots. Thank goodness for Photoshop!
Here’s one of the photos from way back in the black and white days; Brad Bowman at Del Mar Skate Ranch sometime in the late 70’s or early 80’s:
I have a lot of photos that I hope to get scanned and on the website in the near future.
Even though it’s a little cold outside(looks like 44F is going to be the high today) I’m gonna bundle up and take the road bike out. You have to take advantage of dry days this time of year, even if it is a little chilly. Tomorrow, we hope to get back to the woods with the mountain bikes.
that Bowman handplant pic rules!!! thanks, so classic..
I have a bunch more old skate photos I’m scanning, I’ll try to get them posted on the website as soon as possible.
It’s great that you still have your work, as all my negs and transparencies went up in flames. The speed at which things were moving in the late 70s/early 80s was incredible and the best of times.
