Today was another perfect day for riding the local trails. Sunny but cool; another reminder that summer is on the way out and fall is coming. It’s supposed to get back into the mid to high seventies next week, if it does, it could be the last time we’ll see those kind of temperatures this year.
Everything is crisp and clean, still a little damp from the rain earlier in the week. It’s all green now, but we should be seeing fall colors in the next couple weeks.
As is typical for this time of year, there is weather all around. It may be sunny here, but twenty miles away it might be raining. Sunny and warm at the lower elevations, cloudy, windy and cool higher up.
Met a nice young lady out on the trail riding her new Ellsworth. She was getting some trail time to prepare for a Cascade Huts tour coming up in a couple weeks. That will be a great ride on a new bike. The local trails aren’t that bad either.
Tomorrow we are going to get the road bike out and take a tour of Portland, OR with the Gorge Delights crew for the Tour de Lab. Portland is a pretty bike crazy city, I assume a bike ride with brew pubs as rest stops should be quite entertaining.
Sunday, we are hoping to head up into the Mt. Hood National Forest for more mountain biking.
