More Spring Riding

This time of year it can be sunny and warm one day and raining and wet the next. Slowly but surely, the mud becomes nice, firm ground and the trails are just about perfect for riding.

The grass is lush and green so the local rancher let their cattle out for maximum feeding. Many of the cows have new calves, born a little earlier this spring. The cows are pretty mellow and the calves are curious, but they move pretty slow and sometimes you have to wait until they decide to get up and mooooove.

The trails through the woods are lined with pine needles, making them like riding on a carpet. Plenty of trees and branches that have blown down during the winter or during the windy spring storms, so you have to keep your speed in check to be able to slow down for any trail hazards.

Back at the ranch, the horses take care of mowing the lawn which leaves more time to ride.

Looks like on and off nice weather for the next couple days, hopefully there won’t be any major rainstorms and turn the trails back to mud.
