Cold and Snow

It’s looking more and more like winter every day. A wet warm front followed by an Arctic cold air mass has made for some snowy and cold weather. In the past twenty four hours we got about a foot of snow. When the snow stopped, the temperature really started dropping as an the cold Arctic … Read more

On The Road Again

After a week of cold rain and a significant snowstorm, we were able to get back out for a bike ride. The trails are still covered with snow and are very muddy, so it’s time to break out the road bike. At the lower elevations and where the road is exposed to the sun most … Read more

Sun and Snow

We had a pretty good snowstorm yesterday, at least two or three inches of heavy, wet snow. Today the sun is out and the snow is starting to melt. Weather forecast is calling for 50 and sunny by the weekend.

Winter Is Here

Last week was sunny and in the mid sixties, today it’s snowing. Pretty good dump. I drove down the hill into town about 11AM, an hour and a half later there was a couple inches of snow on the road. No snow tires on the truck yet, so plenty of sliding going on. By nightfall, … Read more

One More Ride

The weather here is definitely taking a turn for the wet and cold, but it held off for one more day of riding. Don and I headed out on the local trails, still a bit of fall color left, but the clear sunny skies have been replaced by overcast and cool weather. Not only did … Read more

Great Late Fall Bike Riding

We have had unbelievably nice weather for this time of year. Sunny and in the low 60’s, doesn’t get much nicer than that. There is still a little mud and things are still damp from the rain last week, but the riding is about as good as it gets for this time of year. The … Read more

It rained yesterday and this morning, but the sun actually came out early this afternoon and it was an awesome day, albeit a little damp. Everything is wet and the autumn colors are starting to fade; most of the … Read more

The Edge of Winter

Blog posts have been a little thin for the past week or so, that’s because we’ve had our first extended stretch of miserable fall weather. After a beautiful summer and a couple weeks of nice autumn weather with the leaves changing colors, the first week of cold, rainy, gray weather is pretty depressing. Rainy and … Read more

Glory Day

Today was another awesome day of trail riding here in the Pacific Northwest, but it may have been the last mud-free day. The sun was shining, it was about sixty degrees and the trails were in great shape. I’m just going to roll the photos…… Looks like a little rain tonight, maybe a dry day … Read more

Last Call for the Sun

Been out of town for a few days. Got a chance to check out the fall colors in the Midwest, where the weather was actually very nice for this time of year. Now back in the upper left hand corner of the country trying to squeeze in the last couple days of dry weather for … Read more
