Ride

Last weeks snow storms have made early spring bike riding a little tough. With the trails either muddy, snowy, or both, the best bet was to get out on the road between storms. The roads have been damp with snow on the sides of the roads at the higher elevations and you had to endure an occasional rain shower, but still ridable. On the positive side; the county guys came out and swept the shoulders of the roads making riding the “roads less traveled” easier to manage.

The weather eased up towards the end of the week and gave the trails a chance to dry out a bit. Riding around in the early spring is an adventure. During the winter storms, many trees blow down, some across roads and trails. Check out this giant tree, about five feet in diameter and over a hundred feet high, that fell across an old logging road, blocking all traffic.

Snow is gone from the ground and it looks like the rain is easing up. Hopefully, the muddy sections of trails will dry out and we can get into the summer riding season.

Maybe a little rain tomorrow, then hopefully dry through next weekend.
