Finally, a break in the dismal spring weather. We’ve had a few days of mostly sunny, but cool days with a few rain and snow showers sprinkled in. Today was pretty nice and tomorrow is supposed to be the warmest day of the year so far. The trails have been muddy from all the early spring rain and snow, so most of the bike riding has been on the road.
Still plenty of snow in the local mountains.
Apparently, the bad weather has kept the sheep holed up in the mini barn and it looks like they did a little rolling around in the hay.
After a week of mostly dry weather, I had to head back into the woods and see if the trails were dry enough for mountain biking. Riding on wet, muddy trails really wrecks them so we wait until the mud dries up. Still plenty of places on the trail that were a little moist.
Many of the trails were a little damp, especially in the shade.
Some of the trails were bathed in brilliant sunlight, giving us a little taste of what summer is going to bring.
All of the seasonal creeks are still running at max capacity. Unfortunately, some of the creeks either cross or run down prime singletrack.
Every spring reveals the trees that have blown down over the winter, some of them fall across trails. Gonna need a chainsaw for this one.
Looking forward to tomorrow; sunny and warm. Been a long time since we’ve seen a day like that.
