The weather is about to take a turn for the wet, once it starts raining here, it won’t stop until July. The water in the rivers will be full of runoff and silt, the higher elevation lakes will be getting snow in a couple weeks and the water temperatures will plummet everywhere, slowing down the fish from biting, so it’s the sad day of the year when the kayak goes in the garage for the winter. We went out fishing one last time today, it was a beautiful morning
It’s hard to believe that, starting tomorrow, we aren’t going to see many more of these sunrises until next summer
While there might be a few days over the winter we could get the kayaks out and go fishing, it’s a lot of effort for limited results. The fishing around here is just not that great in the winter. We still will be able to go fishing for steelhead and salmon in the rivers until the end of November, after that, the weather is pretty miserable, not easy to get out there when it’s forty degrees and raining.
We have a lot of fishing photos and videos that we will be working on now that we will be stuck indoors a good deal of the time, we’ll let you know when they are posted on the WatermanAtWork.com website. And of course, there will be snowboarding, snowshoeing, scraping ice off the windshield, etc.
