Much of the year, the weather in this part of the country absolutely sucks. On the other hand, when the weather is nice here, it is spectacular. After a long, wet, dreary spring, we are not going to let a single nice day go by, so out on the local roads we go. The mountain bike is being repaired, we will be back on the trails tomorrow.
This is a great place for bike riding; not much traffic, great scenery and challenging terrain.
This is the heart of Pacific Northwest agriculture
As you climb out of Hood River Valley into the local foothills, you have plenty of views of both Mt. Hood to the south and Mt. Adams to the north
There are some pretty healthy climbs into the hills to the east and west of the valley
There are sections of road that are gravel, dirt and rough asphalt, but sometimes you need to ride them to connect the blacktop sections
I think I will be headed to the Mt. Hood Cycling Classic Criterium this evening, I’ll have some photos from it and I’m still working on the Prologue photos. With the nice weather, it’s really hard stay inside and work on the computer.
