Great Day of Fishing

Saturday morning I went up to the local’s favorite back country lake to find 30 MPH wind and driving rain; not exactly ideal conditions for kayak fishing. The road up to the lake had just been cleared and no doubt the trout were hungry, but it was too knarly for a launch.
Headed back into the valley to the local trout spot. Raining hard but dead calm. Put on the rain gear and headed out. It was raining big time, but the fish were really biting. Slow trolling a spoon fetched about ten rainbows; way better than last weekend. The rain stopped; so did the bite. Headed home about 1PM. Looked like the day would be a washout, hitting a different spot made all the difference.
