Swoopin’ on WhoopDee

Back in the PacNW and back on local trails. Today was overcast, but almost 70°! The weather has been pretty nice for the past few days but with rain in the forecast, had to get out for a ride.
The trail closest to my house is on the top of a ridge that leads all the way up past Surveyors Ridge and to Mt. Hood. I usually ride up to the trail but I’m not quite in shape for that yet, so I drove up to the trailhead and set out. Lots of trees and branches down from the ice storm a couple months ago.

The spring flowers are starting to bloom in the lower elevation mountain meadows

The local trailbuilders not only have cleared the trail, which is one of the most popular trails in the area, but they have added a nice new loop. I got to ride it before it officially opens this weekend. Thanks to the trailhands for the new trail, it is a welcome addition to this well used trail.

Always great to be back on home trails

Looks like light rain for the next few days, hopefully the trails won’t get messed up. We have an Eagle Caves ride planned for Saturday.
